DIY Miniature Hat

DIY Miniature Hat

I made these mini doll hats using an egg carton and tiny doilies.

These were just things I already had sitting around. A little cutting, a little glue, and suddenly we had the sweetest little hats for our dolls.

Why I Love Crafts Like This

They’re:

  • simple
  • low pressure
  • easy to invite your kids into

You don’t need a full setup or a plan. You can just start making something, and if your little one joins in—great. If they just watch—that counts too.

These kinds of crafts show them that creativity doesn’t have to be complicated. That you can take something ordinary (like an egg carton!) and turn it into something magical.

And over time, they start to believe they can do that too.

Make It Your Own

You can keep these hats really simple or add your own little touches:

  • paint the egg carton base
  • use fabric instead of doilies
  • add ribbon, flowers, or tiny details

There’s no right way—just whatever feels fun.

And honestly, letting your kids decorate their own might be the best part.

I shared the full step-by-step over on Instagram so you can see exactly how these come together (it’s easier than it looks).

Save it for later—this is such a fun, quick one to pull out when you need an easy win.
